Gold, Silver & Bronze

Still working my way through goodies acquired in the past year...

Action Comics #62... another classic World War II cover. Note that there are two versions of this cover. This version features orange circles on the plane. The other version features red circles and the soldier has more blood on his bandages. No one seems to know which version was the first, but I can't help but wonder if they changed it in the midst of the print run because someone objected to the amount of blood.

Avengers #8 from the Sid's Luncheonette collection with a nice white cover... a superior 6.0.

Last, but not least, Wonder Woman #199 with a classic Jeff Jones cover. Perhaps, the most notable and popular Wonder Woman cover.

Action Comics 54 - The Nazi Sub

Just because I took a long hiatus in posting to the blog, doesn't mean I wasn't collecting. So, I have some nice acquisitions from the past year to share.

I'll start with this copy of Action Comics 54 I picked up earlier in 2009. I love the Action war covers, but they are getting harder and harder to acquire... seems like a lot of collectors have decided to focus on them. The competition now makes me wish I had worked a little harder at collecting them when I started years ago.
